Welcome to my blog. Mayo football is our game, there is a light that never goes out is our name and chartering the highs and lows of our county footballers is our aim. We’ll bring you through the trials and tribulations of Mayo football as we await that day when we will be kings of Ireland again. Like Sean Flanagan at the top of the page in those heady September days in 1950 and 1951. Those days will return again. That much keeps us going.
We won’t limit our musings to the senior football team. Underage football, hurling, club football, ladies football and the politics of the GAA in Mayo will come into our compass. National Gaelic games issues will also feature strongly.
But nothing consumes the Mayo Gael more than the search for Sam. So everything else will have to take its place in the line behind that quest. We can’t say when that quest will end, save to say that it will. Until then, there is a light that never goes out.
